I have always loved getting dressed up on Easter Sunday. It started when I was a little girl, picking out the perfect floral dress for church and breakfast with the family. Now, I still enjoy getting dolled up on Easter, the perfect excuse to wear a colorful dress and have a fashionable moment. This year, I went with a neon dress and deep purple necklace. I kept the accessories to a minimum since the dress was such a vibrant shade of yellow. This will be the perfect dress for a summer wedding or cocktail party!
I recently noticed that when I pass by people at work, on the street, or out on the town, they are often staring at my feet. Now, perhaps I should be offended by this and yell “Hey I’m up here!” but I take it as a compliment. They are simply staring at my shoes. Since I have such a wide collection of footwear in many colors, heel heights and patterns, it’s understandable that people may notice my shoes first. So I thought, why not celebrate this? And so, “Daily Shoe in Snap Shots” is officially born!
Packing for a beach bound vacation might seem overwhelming, but for me I try not to over think what I am going to wear and I throw in pieces that allow me to simply go with the flow. Although you never know of last minute weather changes, you can usually count on sunny skies, high temps and hopefully a little breeze on the beach. My go-to vacation basics include plenty of light dresses and cover-ups, a few beach hats, sandals and wedges, a great beach bag and of course, sunscreen. At the end of the day, I feel confident throwing my hair up in a bun and walking the beach with my multi-colored toes.
Someone once told me that you are most yourself on vacation. Why? Because you typically don’t know the people surrounding you, so you’re less worried about judgment or making a big impression. Maybe that’s how I was feeling when I painted my toes last night for my trip to Florida. I couldn’t decide on a color, so I took a risk and painted the colors of the rainbow on my nails. Does it look goofy? Maybe. But, it’s fun, festive and springy! So, if people on the beach want to judge my crazy colors, go ahead. At least my toes are happy. J
Spring has arrived and Easter is almost here! You know what that means… Easter dresses, plenty of candy and COLOR! Who doesn’t love spring fashion? Your toes finally get to come out from hiding and your legs get a break from those winter tights. So, bring on the spring dresses, shoes and plenty of color.
5 things I’m loving right now…
A black pencil skirt is a closet essential that most women purchase the moment they enter the work force. Or from the moment they can walk in heels. This classic and timeless basic allows for some versatile looks depending on the styling, accessorizing and occasion.
With my beach vacation quickly approaching, my mind has been all consumed by what to pack to bring some style to the island. Recently I have had an affinity with cute anchor accessories, which remind me of summer picnics and boating. I just pulled out my anchor pendant from last summer to accessorize a blue blouse. Then, since I still have one more week of no shopping for clothes or shoes, I indulged in a cute new iPhone case for spring.
My affinity with well-manicured fingers continues. This week has been all about fun and colorful nails. I started on Sunday with bright coral nails and just a pop of glimmer on my ring finger to add some extra dazzle. Then, by mid-week I decided between a few shades of purple to change things up. Finally, it’s not easy being green, but I will have bright green nails for the weekend. J
Looking polished and perfectly ladylike can be easy peasy with a crisp tailored white blouse. A white button down is a closet essential and completely versatile when creating girly and ladylike looks.
