I remember finding this little gem of a dress at J.Crew three years ago. It was on the clearance rack for under $40 (what?!) and they literally had one left in my size. For a moment I thought maybe I was on a hidden camera show where someone would pop out and say “Ha! Just kidding! This dress really isn’t for you”. I mean, shopping moments like this rarely happen.  It was fashion fate. Sale dress + my size + polka dots = perfection.

When the skies are cloudy and grey, I try to find ways to boost my mood, like excessive shopping and wine. Kidding, I only make responsible decisions. I find little ways to boost my mood like wearing colorful denim or a fun lip shade.  I’ve had a recent affinity for colored denim, a nice and unexpected change in the winter months to brighten things up.  Green today…  purple tomorrow?  We’ll see.

Finding a flattering, versatile dress is always a win.  Finding a perfect little dress at a ridiculously low price is even better!  That’s what happened when I scooped up this little blue dress at Nordstrom Rack.  I loved the fabric and style of this belted frock and when I realized it was only $30, I immediately purchased it!  So, since you already saw what I wore to the wedding ceremony this weekend (see Peplum Party), here is what I wore to the reception!

Don’t you just love it when you stumble upon something new that you just want to wear all the time?  Well, that’s how I feel about this new gingham print shirt.  The fit is amazing, it’s comfortable, colorful and I could wear it every day.  Over the weekend I paired this button down with distressed boyfriend jeans, a sweet bow belt and pointed toe pumps.  My new favorite outfit!

It’s a great feeling when you find a new, flattering dress that is completely season-less.  I scooped up this cheetah print ruffle dress from Loft the other day and I just love it.  I never thought I would say this, but I actually like it on me more than the model on their website (shocking, I know!).  This dress is completely comfortable for the late summer and can be worn with tights, boots and a blazer for the fall and winter.  Can’t wait to post more ways to wear this one as it gets cooler!

I was recently shopping for a new versatile patterned blouse and I was looking at different prints, I realized I am always drawn to polka dots.  I will try on other patterns, prints and textures, but I always seem to go back to my favorite.  I think it’s because polka dots are feminine, playful and timeless.  They are always appropriate for both work and weekend.  I paired my new polka dot blouse with a leopard belt for a little contrast and my peeptoe bow heels.  I added a yellow clutch and my red lipstick for an extra pop of color and glamour.
